Beaches

One of the perks of being on Georgian Bay is that there are numerous beach areas to visit. Memorial Park (located on Grant ave. ) not only has 400 metres of shoreline, but there is a picnic shelter, snack bar, mini golf, playground and change rooms. Fred Raper Park, (at the corner of Sykes St. and Bayfield St.) has a sandy beach, picnic tables, playground equipment, and gazebo and washrooms. Christie Beach (at the end of Christie Beach Rd. just off of hwy. 26), is a beautiful, quiet sandy beach with change rooms, washrooms, playground equipment and a picnic shelter. Beautiful Joe Park (located in the centre of town, along the Big Head River), has a numerous memorials to the relationship between humans and animals, a wooded area, change rooms, a picnic shelter and playground equipment. St. Vincent Park is a secluded waterfront park with change rooms and playground equipment, and it is located on Lakeshore Drive off of the 7th line.
